ALASKA MISSION FOR CHRIST

Peace Lutheran has been sending a team to Copper Center, Alaska since 2012. This “hammer & nails” mission trip shares the love of Christ by helping the people of this remote region receive the basic necessities of life. God provides many opportunities to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with those who are being served. Peace has now formed an enduring relationship with the people of Copper Center and Mt. Drum Lutheran Church. Contact Lay Minister, Jeff Nielsen (jeff@peaceantigo.org) for more information.

GUATEMALA MISSION TEAM

GUATEMALA MISSION TEAM

Since 2015 Peace has sponsored a team to serve in Guatemala through Pray America.  Mayan widows and children are served in the mountainous villages surrounding Chichicastenago in NW Guatemala. The mission team builds widow’s homes, latrines, and installs efficient wood burning stoves and water filters. The gospel is shared at each home and the widow and family is given a solar powered light & Audio Bible in K’iche’, the native dialect of local Guatemalans.  Contact Dan & Sarah Stoehr at 715-484-2393 or dtstoehr@gmail.com for more information.

PERSONAL MISSIONARY SUPPORT

Peace currently supports Becky Grossman and Lutheran Bible Translators.  Lutheran Bible Translators (LBT), is an independent Lutheran mission organization that is dedicated to helping bring people to faith in Jesus Christ by making the Word of God available to those who do not yet have it in the language of their hearts.

Also serving LBT is Becky Grossman, of Gobles, Michigan. Becky is working with a project to bring God’s Word to the Gola and Dan peoples in Liberia who long to have the Scriptures in their own native tongue. The translation work will be done by teams of local Gola and Dan translators with support from local Liberian churches. Becky is serving as a translation adviser and will be assisting the indigenous translations teams via the Internet and Skype with occasional in-person visits to Liberia

PERSONAL MISSIONARY SUPPORT

Peace currently supports Dr. Charles and Connie Cortright who are serving in Riga, Latvia through LCMS World Missions. Pastor Cortright is helping to develop an online seminary program in English. He has about 25 students who desire to serve as pastors and other church workers in their home countries which include Bulgaria, Romania, Italy, Switzerland, and even Pakistan.
