OFFICE STAFFING CHANGES
(Beginning Monday, May 14)
Welcome back to Mrs. Crystal Desmond, who is returning from maternity leave after giving birth to Jonah. God's blessings on your family! Thank you to Mrs. Barb Boettcher for filling in!
Mrs. Debra Mathey has been hired as our new Administrative Manager and will begin her duties in our church & school office on May 14. Mrs. Mathey is the wife of Rev. Michael Mathey, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church in Pickerel. The Mathey's have two children: Timothy, who is in 5K at Peace Lutheran School, and one year old Kelly. We welcome Debra and pray that God blesses her as she works in our church and school ministry.
Mrs. Linda Depies will continue to be in the office next week as she helps Mrs. Mathey transition into the office. God's blessings, Mrs. Depies!
Staff Recognition Sunday, May 20th
At the 8:00 a.m. worship service on May 20, we will be recognizing three Peace staff members who will be leaving our Peace staff (years of service at Peace): Jeanine Jacobs (43 years) retiring as Food Service Director, Troy Strobel (11 years) as Computer Tech, and Linda Depies (5 years) as Administrative Manager.
Plan to attend this special service as well as a coffee
and cake reception to be held in the Fellowship Hall
following the service.
A card box is located in the narthex of the church
so that you can express your appreciation for these
servants of Christ who have ministered in various ways
to many in our church

SUMMER WORSHIP SCHEDULE
THURSDAY 6:00 P.M. (No Saturday Service)
SUNDAY 8 A.M. & 10:30 A.M.
The semi-annual voters meeting will be held Thursday, June 7 at 7:00 p.m. The 2012-13 budget will be presented at that meeting. That is also the first night of our Thursday summer worship services at 6:00 p.m.
Holy Moses is the name of our Spring Musical. Our students (5K-8) have started practicing the songs already. You may have heard some of them at home by now: "A Plague of Plagues," "Egyptian Brick," or "Baby Moses was a Basket Case." We will perform on May 31, at 6:30 P.M. There will also be a dress-rehearsal preview performance that day. Watch for more information coming soon!
Relay for Life - The 7-8 graders of Peace Lutheran have a team for Relay for Life this year. Relay for Life funds enable the American Cancer Society to help people stay well and get well, to find cures and to fight back. This month's chapel offerings will be used for Relay for Life. Peace students will also have an opportunity on May 25 to support the 7-8 grade team - more details will come home on that soon. The free-will offering at our spring musical will be another opportunity to raise funds for this cause.
If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Reineke.
Mission News: During the month of April, Peace Lutheran Church and School participated in the M & M project, Mission Minded Kids for Camp. Together with our Sunday School, we were able to give over $680 to Camp Luther's Every Kid to Camp Campaign. That will pay for two kids to attend camp for a week this summer! Praise the Lord for the opportunity to share Jesus' love with others through Camp Luther. An additional blessing is that Camp Luther has received a matching funds grant and our contribution will be matched dollar-for-dollar.
Our next chapel mission project is Relay for Life -Team 7th & 8th grade. All chapel offerings given in May and June will be donated to Relay for Life in support of the American Cancer Society.
CONGRATULATIONS to our day school 8th grade students that publicly professed their faith and were confirmed this past Sunday, May 6.
