Ash Wednesday worship, 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m.
Imposition of Ashes and Communion at each service.
Soup Supper 5:00 p.m. (Beef Barley & Chicken Noodle)
Lent is a season of penitence, reflection, and spiritual growth. “Prayers of the Passion” will be our midweek Lent theme as we will focus on the prayers offered by Jesus at the time of Jesus’ suffering and death. Prayer resources will be made available as well as the opportunity to be prayed for individually by other caring Christians following the Wednesday midweek services.
Desserts needed - Here is an opportunity to help with the Ash Wednesday Soup Supper on February 22. We are in need of desserts. If you are interested in making a dessert, please sign up at the information center by February 19th. Please bring your dessert on February 22 by 4 PM.
Sunday Lent Worship Series
Beginning next Sunday, February 26, we will begin a worship series focused on the Psalms, in keeping with our Lent theme on prayer this year. The Psalms of the Old Testament were and continue to be the "prayer book" of God's people. Together we will hear from the inspired writers of those prayers as they poured out their heart to God in both times of joy and sorrow. The Psalms will also be the focus of our Table Talks Bible Class during the Lenten season on Sundays at 9:20 a.m. on the carpeted side of the fellowship hall. Plan to take a step forward in your prayer life this year during Lent.
A CHANCE TO HELP CANCER PATIENTS
A short-term MAT (Ministry Action Team) is forming to help provide religious support materials for our church library and the local Cancer Center. This MAT will have an organizational meeting on Monday, February 20 from 6:00 - 6:30 p.m. This MAT is open to anyone who has a desire to help people affected by a cancer diagnosis. This MAT will plan, cook, and serve a Lenten supper on Wednesday, March 14. There will be a freewill offering taken and the proceeds will be used to purchase devotional books to share encouragement from God's Word with cancer patients.
In addition, we are looking for titles of specific books and/or accepting donations of books that you may have found helpful during the cancer journey. If you have questions, please contact Paula Breutzmann at 715-623-4487 (home) or by e-mail (paula@peaceantigo.org).

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, In response to President Obama’s announcement Feb. 10 concerning an “accommodation” to a previous mandate that health plans must cover all forms of birth control (even those that can kill the unborn), The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) remains deeply concerned. We strongly object to the use of drugs and procedures that are used to take the lives of unborn children, who are persons in the sight of God from the time of conception. Drugs such as “Plan B” and “Ella,” which are still included in the mandate, can work post-conception to cause the death of the developing child, so don’t be fooled by statements to the contrary.
We remain opposed to this mandate because it runs counter to the biblical truth of the sanctity of human life. We are committed to working to ensure that we remain free to practice the teachings of our faith, that our religious rights are not violated, and that our rights of conscience are retained.
